It is great to see how many Congolese people here and there are trying to
bring what they believe could bring peace and stability in their country.
In response to your analysis below I see things differently. First at all, we
should not be solution minded people but PROBLEM-SOLVERS. In your analysis
below you are proposing the STEP DOWN OF PRESIDENT KABILA as the solution to
the country's crisis.
- Are you sure that Kabila's departure will solve Rwanda's intention to
occupy the Eat part of the country?
- Are you sure that Kabila's departure will prevent Mobutists from their
intention to come back?
If Kabila's departure will not prevent Rwanda from claiming and occupying the
East part of the country then your proposed solution will not have an impact on the ground. Your proposed solution is mainly based on Kabila's
military inability to crash the enemies. We should remember that the ongoing
war started when Kabila had only a year in power. I am wondering how many
soldiers Kabila could recruit, train, and equip in one year considering the
state of the country. There are some people who have even proposed that
Kabila could maintain all former Mobutu army. All of us know that the Mobutu's army never win a war but they were very experienced in looting and
killing civilians. Let accept your proposition of Kabila's departure now on
military inability ground, I believe the new president will have to go to the
same process of recruiting, training, and equiping the army for a long period
of time. As you never know what can happen tomorrow, if another war erupt or
the country is invaded again, the situation will be similar to what we have
today.
In my opinion I believe your proposed solution of Kabila's departure is the
most dangerous one at this point in time because everyone will try to be
president. There will be a serious power struggle that the country may never
have experienced that could lead to EASY PARTITION OF THE COUNTRY.
No one is defending Kabila's power but we are trying to predict what could
happen if such a solution could be implemented.
IF WE DEFINE CORRECTLY THE PROBLEM WE WILL BE ABLE TO PROPOSE APPROPRIATE
SOLUTIONS AND BE ABLE TO BRING PEACE TO THAT COUNTRY.
WE SOULD BE ABLE TO ASK OURSELVES WHY FOREIGN NATIONS ARE STILL SPENDING
HUNDRED OF MILLION OF MONEY TO APPOINT A PRESIDENT IN CONGO. WE BELIEVED THAT
AFTER THE SUFFERING WITH MOBUTU THEY COULD LEAVE US BE ABLE TO CHOOSE OUR OWN
PRESIDENT.
I BELIEVE THE PROBLEMS ARE BROUGHT BY THOSE WHO HAVE INTEREST IN THE CONGO.
ONCE WE AGREE THAT THIS IS THE PROBLEM THAT WE ARE FACING AND TRY TO DEAL
WITH THAT EFFICIENTLY I HOPE WE WILL BE ABLE TO BRING PEACE AND STABILITY
HOME.
Thank you.
