Dear Mr. Marek,

I have been reading for quite some time your editorials about the War in the DR Congo. In view of some rather astonishing positions I see in your editorials, I would like to get some clarification on the following straightforward questions:

. 1) Is there an invasion of Congo by foreign troops from Rwanda, Uganda, and Burundi?

. 2) Is the charter of the UN regarding territorial integrity violated by these countries?

. 3) Is there any significant popular support in Eastern Congo or even in the rest of the Congo for the RCD and the coalition behind it?

. 4) Is there any credibility on Zahidi Ngoma's accusations against the RCD and its allies?

. 5) Are there gross human rights violations in the Congolese territories controlled by Rwanda and Uganda, including mass murders?

.6) Have you heard anything about the final report of the RCD probing on the Kassika massacers and others?

.7) Is there Sate-organized plundering of minerals, timber and other natural ressources in the territories controlled by Rwanda, Uganda, and Burundi?

.8)Has the DR Congo the right to ask for the military support of its allies when faced with a threat?

.9) Is the recent decree on the liberalization of political parties in the DR of Congo a step in the right direction?

.10) What are the policies of the Government of the DR of Congo which are flawed?

.11) If fair elections were held today, who do you think among the Congolese leaders has the best chance to win them and why?

.12) Do you consider Rwanda, Burundi, and Uganda to be democratic regimes?

.13) When you met the leaders of RCD a few months ago, you concluded: "Those people do not deserve to lead the Congo". What is your current assessment?

.14) Who was the person threatened of exposure by Mr Mulumba Kin Kiey during the interview you attended when the Rebels leaders were in Washington?

. 15) Is there anything Kabila should have done during the first year of his regime which he did not do or start?

.16) Is there anything Kabila has done during the first year of his regime which you find positive?

. 17) How do you assess his management of this war?

. 18)Do you read once in a while the more balanced and unbiased editorials of Pierre Bigras?

.19) When was the last time you went to Congo?

.20) Have you met and discussed with President Kabila?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Pierre Mangila
