Since the change of leadership in kinshasa last year, many congolese are wondering where the seemingly unknown new president will lead his country in the next millennium, questions are being raised about his ability to govern effeciently due to his lack of experience on that matter, also skeptics still hold that fear of succumbing to a new era of
authoritarian govermnent .
Laurent Kabila, the new president who made sure after renaming zaire back to congo that the word democratic be a part of the official name to show that he is a changed man from the one on the side Che guevara, the famous south american revolutionary who credited him as being a good leader but his weakness is not different from the late marshall Mobutu, the great Che accused Kabila of being a womanizer with a taste for luxurious hotels, things that a lot of african leaders believe come automatically with the power. So far Kabila has shown that he can be a democrat in his preachings and a dictactor in his actions, let add here in term of fairness that some congolese say they believe the need of a strong hand to recreate order lost during Mobutu era, let not forget Mobutu used the same argument a certain novenber 24th 1965, despite all critic, let give credit where credit is due, Kabila is a man that has shown us, that patience pays, sticking to what you firmly believe, the man lived in exile for almost three decades, he demonstrated that he can make extreme sacrifices ,after a priest,a visionary, a demi god, he undrestands now that congo needs an economist rather than a nzee who is going to tell us educative fable, so please MR president let us know what is your agenda, your people want to know what you are going to do.
God bless you MR president.
God bless the people of congo.
